Earlier today, the House passed HB 2560 by Rep. Bill Zedler, which would require school districts to post their check registers online. This action will increase the transparency of school spending; reduce the number, cost, and staff time associated with open records requests for this information; and promote more responsible allocation of taxpayer dollars. The Foundation’s Brooke Terry worked closely with Zedler’s office on the legislative language for this bill.
