Joseph was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is currently an incoming third-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago. He is majoring in philosophy and is planning to attend law school upon graduation. During the summer after his first year as an undergraduate, Joseph served as an intern at a Minnesota-based think tank, the Center of the American Experiment. Due to his work as an intern last summer, as well as his prospective career in law, Joseph developed a strong interest in policy work on the state level.
