Syd Lucas was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally thinking that she would be a teacher, she began her freshman year at Baylor University as an elementary education major. However, a class on the social issues in education spurred her to change to Great Texts of the Western Tradition where she would hone her research and writing skills. As a research assistant for a renowned political science professor at Baylor, she began to be interested in public policy on the state level and thus pursued TPPF. She desires to continue to learn and begin a career in public policy.
