Dr. Forrest Watson has unique and extensive personal experience in the field of Texas education. He has served as a school superintendent for over thirty-five years in five different Texas districts and is very familiar with the issues facing Texas education, including school finance and the inefficacies inherent in the status quo. He has served as a “turn-around specialist” for underperforming schools on several occasions and has over 20 years of experience creating, managing, and working with charter schools to help at-risk students. In this capacity, Dr. Watson has implemented new and innovative teaching methods that have shown substantial results in education. His background with both school districts and charter schools offer valuable insights in Texas education that few others can offer.

The final oral arguments for the current school finance litigation were heard before the Texas Supreme Court on September 1st 2015. This amicus brief explains how our state can make education more productive for Texas children.
