In 1992, Dr. John Goodman, president of the National Center for Policy Analysis, co-authored the book Patient Power, which introduced the concept of Health Savings Accounts which patients could use to control more of their healthcare dollars. His new book, published by the Independent Institute, is called Priceless: Curing the Healthcare Crisis. In it, he argues that healthcare is a complex system that cannot be managed from the top down and that true reform requires allowing doctors and patients to interact in innovative ways to help meet unique individual medical needs.
