Border Control

What to Know: The migrants who died in a tractor-trailer near San Antonio were victims of human smugglers.

The TPPF Take: President Biden’s border policies have given effective control of the southern U.S. border to the criminal cartels.

“Some of the worse consequences of a lawless Texas-Mexico border are epitomized in the tragedy that has just occurred with the deaths of 53 migrants packed into an overheated tractor-trailer on the outskirts of San Antonio,” says TPPF’s Ken Oliver. “When the United States systematically fails to account for and effectively regulate the entry of migrants who cross the southwest border into our country, tragedies like this one, the deadliest human smuggling incident in American history, will invariably occur.”

Doomed!

What to Know: The Supreme Court’s decision to rein in EPA overreach still has many of the left upset, and warning the rest of us of impending doom.

The TPPF Take: The Supreme Court was right; the EPA had overstepped its bounds.

“The Supreme Court has delivered a vital win in reining in the bureaucratic ‘fourth branch’ of government,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac. “This decides in favor of West Virginia in saying Congress must deliver a clear directive, and Congress has not when it comes to the absurdity of regulating greenhouse gases.”

Welfare for the Wealthy

What to Know: Nearly 200 organizations are urging President Biden to continue the federal student loan repayment “pause.”

The TPPF Take: The student loan pause is assistance for the rich.

“The student loan repayment pause is perversely targeted to provide welfare for the already or soon-to-be rich,” says TPPF’s Andrew Gillen. “Welfare for the rich is a misallocation of taxpayer dollars, so it is well past time for the Biden administration to end the student loan repayment pause.”
