Green No Deal

What to know: The Biden administration used bad science to rush through an offshore wind project, a new study finds.

The TPPF take: Officials knew offshore wind projects came with risks — but they pushed ahead anyway, in pursuit of the Biden-Harris Green New Deal.

“It’s another example of the left’s willful blindness when it comes to renewable energy, and particularly the undeniable disadvantages of offshore wind,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “From environmental destruction to the deaths of endangered whales to the human costs, offshore wind continues to combine theoretical advantages with very concrete disadvantages.”

Costing Millions

What to know: Millions of dollars are spent providing medical care for non-U.S. citizens in Texas, the data shows.

The TPPF take: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered Texas hospitals to ask patients if they are here lawfully.

“As one of countless young adults who grew up in Texas now paying into the tax base and pursuing home ownership and the freedom to raise the next generation with the opportunities that we were given, I see our state’s health care system and educational system stretched to their limits to provide services to illegal aliens,” says TPPF Liberty Leadership Council member Olivia Krog. “The result? A misplaced financial burden on citizen taxpayers rather than investing these funds toward our economic future.”

A DOGE of Our Own

What to know: The Texas Legislature has passed a bill creating Texas’ own Department of Government Efficiency to look for waste, fraud and abuse in state spending.

The TPPF take: Senate Bill 14 will benefit all Texans.

“With SB 14’s signing in the near future, Texans gain a powerful new set of tools and controls to begin rightsizing the state’s regulatory framework,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “Once fully implemented, these systems will help ensure that Texas’ economy remains the envy of the nation.”
