A Surprising Coalition

What to know: A coalition of both the left and the right are pushing for more housing—and reducing regulations.

The TPPF take: Lot size restrictions are among the biggest culprits behind housing unaffordability.

“Smaller lot sizes can help reduce the costs of purchasing a home first by reducing the amount of actual land needed to build a home, and second by increasing the overall supply of housing,” says TPPF’s John Bonura. “Simply put, the solution lies in getting the government out of the way.”

But It’s True

What to know: A new ad campaign shows how TikTok and other social media apps push harmful content to America’s young people.

The TPPF take: Lawmakers must do more to protect children online.

“Academic research and nearly daily tragic stories continue to demonstrate that the harms of social media on children can no longer be ignored by policymakers,” said TPPF’s Zach Whiting. “TPPF fully supports legislative efforts to better protect children online, including prohibiting social media companies from peddling their addictive products to kids.”

Erasing History

What to know: The left wants to erase portions of American history, warns former White House official Doug MacKinnon.

The TPPF take: Texas is winning the war on wokeness—and preserving history.

“DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) is a simplistic attempt to reduce Texas history, American history—the history of all Western civilization—into a war between villains and heroes,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Using their analysis, every hero in the so-called ‘master narrative’ is a villain and consequently, every villain must be made into a hero. To see how this works in contemporary times, just look at how campuses—students and faculty alike—made heroes out of the terrorists who attacked Israel.”
