AI is Coming

What to know: High schoolers are turning to artificial intelligence “for more than just homework,” experts say: “And the more people depend on the advice of AI, the less likely they are to experience opportunities for growth.”

The TPPF take: Alarmist reports about AI follow the COVID-19 playbook.

“Reading a recent essay about artificial intelligence was like stepping back in time to roughly six years ago, when the world started going insane over COVID-19,” says TPPF’s Matt Miller. “It hits all the same beats as those viral essays from 2020, when we were told ‘something big was coming’ and ‘life will never be the same.’ And the intent is clearly the same: to so unsettle a population that they will begin to feel powerless in the face of what is about to come.”

Trans Bill of Rights

What to know: Progressives in Congress have reintroduced a “Trans Bill of Rights” that if passed would undo recent work to stop the trans agenda.

The TPPF take: This is why protecting women and girls at the state level is important.

“Senate Bill 12—the Parents’ Bill of Rights—prohibits public schools from assisting children who try to present themselves as the opposite sex,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “The legislation was necessary because too many teachers seem to believe it is their job to help students hide their gender confusion from their parents. SB 12 is designed to prevent schools from enabling the delusion of students who say they are the opposite sex, including calling a boy Susan if his name is Bill.”

Endangerment

What to know: Environmentalist groups are already suing President Donald Trump over his repeal of the EPA’s “endangerment finding” that slashes regulations.

The TPPF take: Trump’s decision to rescind the 2009 Greenhouse Gas Endangerment Finding is a necessary correction of legal violations and regulatory overreach that will lower energy prices and increase energy options for Americans.

“The EPA’s original finding failed to demonstrate that the moderate warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions is endangering public health, ignoring evidence like the fact that climate-related deaths have plummeted by 98% over the past century,” says TPPF’s Brent Bennett. “We applaud the EPA for rejecting flawed climate models and speculation and returning to sound science.”
