At the Brink

What to know: Austin is near “the brink of disaster” thanks to the far Left’s repeated attacks on policing, public safety, and the rule of law. The situation is likely to get worse before it gets better.

The TPPF take: Radical leftists are to blame for Austin’s public safety crisis.

“Austin is ground zero for Texas’ progressive movement and, to the surprise of no one, it is also home to some of the state’s worst problems. Homelessness. Housing affordability. Traffic congestion. And now public safety,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “State legislators should not ignore what’s happening in Texas’ capital city. Its many problems beg for a bold solution.”

Election Fraud

What to know: USA Today says that misinformation about U.S. elections is “everywhere.”

The TPPF take: Election misinformation starts with elections officials; they are undermining voter confidence by dismissing legitimate concerns about illegal voting.

“Citizens have a right to know that their elections are secure,” says TPPF’s Josh Findlay. “It is inappropriate for election officials to shirk reasonable questions about the security of an election, and it only feeds tension and distrust.”

Georgia On My Mind

What to know: In Georgia, Republicans are working to clean up the voter rolls.

The TPPF take: Georgia claims to have the “cleanest” voter rolls in the nation.

“Many Georgians, as well as election integrity experts across the country, would agree that the federal law should be reformed, but mass data entry errors and omissions are simply not the fault of federal law alone,” says TPPF’s Anelise Powers. “The security of Georgia’s elections impacts us all.”
