Bidenomics

What to know: Americans aren’t buying Bidenomics. Just 36 percent of those surveyed said Biden is doing a good job handling the economy.

The TPPF take: The Biden administration’s policies have destroyed the economic comfort and prosperity of the previous administration.

“The pro-energy, pro-business policies of the previous administration saved the average family of four an estimated $2,500,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac. “Since Biden’s inauguration those savings have been completely wiped out as gas prices have doubled, now costing the average family $2,800 more per year.”

Border Concerns

What to know: The open southern U.S. border is creating a national security crisis, observers say.

The TPPF take: TPPF’s Carine Martinez visited the border recently.

“My colleagues and I bore witness to the reality Texas border communities are facing everyday as a result of loose federal enforcement of immigration laws. This was both heartbreaking and infuriating,” says Carine. “The truth is Washington has abandoned—and sacrificed—border communities when it stopped enforcing immigration laws. Texas has not, but Texas is also under assault by our own federal government, and by a Mexican government in cahoots with cartels, both trying to prevent Texas from doing the right thing: securing the border.”

Against the Wind

What to know: Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham says Texas must fight the development of offshore wind farms in the Gulf.

The TPPF take: Commissioner Buckingham is right; there are too many trade-offs with offshore wind.

“The expansion of offshore wind farms pours funds into the construction of an energy source that is unable to compete against the efficiency and energy density of fossil fuels,” says TPPF’s Aliyah Formont. “Government favors for wind and solar have real-world costs—to both taxpayers and ratepayers.”
