Blown Up
What to know: The Vineyard Wind offshore energy project has been shut down, after a turbine blade failure that left dangerous debris littering beaches.
The TPPF take: In its pursuit of a Green New Deal, the Biden administration seems to be skipping OSHA and environmental safety protocols.
“The federal government must ensure safety and protection of the environment when permitting renewable energy projects like Vineyard Wind,” says TPPF’s Connor Mighell. “This disaster proves the Project isn’t safe or environmentally friendly, and next week we’ll ask the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston to put a stop to it.”

Social Media Isn’t Free
What to know: Social media comes at a cost, experts warn, especially in energy consumption. The platform X, for example, which used to be known as Twitter, is breaking records for usage.
The TPPF take: Fossil fuels make possible the connections and conversations facilitated by social media.
“In the modern technological age, we are too quick to forget that all energy used has a cost that must be paid,” says TPPF’s Hannah Bruck. “With billions of people using social media for hours every day, it adds up. Critics of fossil fuels will tweet their disdain for them all while using power generated by coal and gas.”

We Get It
What to know: Americans aren’t buying the Biden administration’s economic denialism.
The TPPF take: The Democrats have stopped using the term “Bidenomics” on the campaign trail, but the policies are very much at the center of the upcoming election.
“The Biden administration can’t escape the blame for higher prices,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “And that’s why it must try to redirect voters’ anger. We’re seeing a whole-of-government approach to increasing our misery coming out of the Biden administration by forcing average Americans to sacrifice their quality of life and comfort for the progressive agenda.”
