What to know: The Wall Street Journal reports that Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum is “getting fed up” with President Donald Trump linking her to the criminal cartels that run freely in her nation.
The TPPF take: Here’s an idea: Maybe she should be fed up with the criminal cartels themselves.
“In Mexico, President Claudia Sheinbaum’s Morena government is increasingly alone,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “It keeps bilateral contacts with Washington while refusing the regional coalition, citing fear of U.S. operations on Mexican soil. If Flávio Bolsonaro wins the Brazilian runoff, Sheinbaum’s remaining major left-of-center counterpart in the region is gone. Isolation raises the diplomatic cost of open sanctuary to the drug lords.”

Hating on Israel and Jews
What to know: Universities across the United States staged anti-Israel—and blatantly anti-Semitic—protests on Oct. 7, the anniversary of the 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas.
The TPPF take: That terrorist attack by Hamas resulted in the killing of over 1,200 people and the abduction of 251 hostages.
“Students at Columbia, UCLA and other universities around the country, as well as in the City of New York, launched commemorative protests to affirm their support for Hamas, chanting, ‘there is only one solution, intifada revolution,’ which provides some insight into the worldview of these American students,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Even more difficult to understand is another popular chant uttered throughout the protest, ‘NYPD, KKK, IDF [Israeli Defense Force] they’re all the same.’ Think about that.”
