Civil Discourse

What to know: Education Secretary Linda McMahon has called for teachers to both teach and model civil discourse.

The TPPF take: How should we restore peace in public political and social debates?

“Our constitutional traditions and concept of the Rule of Law mean little to those rationalizing away either Charlie Kirk’s assassination or the many other instances of politically motivated violence in last few years,” says TPPF’s Dr. Cliff Porter. “The answer lays within restoring the meaning of the Constitution and the Law founded on individual right to free thinking and speech. Doing so undermines violent ideologies at their core.”

Suing the Scots

What to know: TPPF attorneys are suing Highland Park Independent School District over its policy of hiding some documents that might be incriminating.

The TPPF take: The district has refused to release a report on irregularities in its tennis program, claiming attorney-client privilege.

“I’m an attorney, and I know how important attorney-client privilege is for genuine communications between attorney and client,” says TPPF’s Nathan Seltzer. “The school district’s abuse of this attorney-client privilege loophole to hide core public information from its own parents is a twisting of this important privilege that must be stopped.”

107 Days (Sure Seemed Longer)

What to know: Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ new book on her run for president, “107 Days,” came out this week.

The TPPF take: There are so many sad things about Harris, but one of them is that she seems to have no idea who the American people are.

“What Americans were looking for in 2024 was a leader who would pledge to shut down the border, focus the economy on creating jobs, stop getting into wars, end the crazed takeover of campuses across the country, keep boys out of girls restrooms,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “These new revelations of Harris checking identity politics boxes are more proof of why Kamala Harris was never that leader.”
