Cracking Up

What to know: The family restaurant chain Cracker Barrel has “ruined a good thing,” customers say, following the company’s woke rebrand.

The TPPF take: Americans are united—in hating the rebrand.

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom followed Donald Trump, Jr. and a country-wide tsunami of conservative critics who roared back after the new Cracker Barrel restaurants CEO, Julie Feiss Masino—who apparently missed the whole Bud Light Dylan Mulvaney fiasco—changed Cracker Barrel’s logo, removing the old country guy and the barrel,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “In these polarized times, it is hard to imagine any issue that could bring us all together. Who knew it might be Cracker Barrel.”

Where are the Protests?

What to know: The legacy media just can’t seem to understand why Washington, D.C. residents aren’t out in the streets protesting the Trump administration’s crackdown on crime.

The TPPF take: No one wants their city overrun with crime.

“While other cities began to see violent crime decline in 2023, D.C.’s crime rate went the opposite direction — fueled by robberies, assaults with dangerous weapons, and an unprecedented spike in auto theft,” says TPPF’s Brett Tolman. “The people of Washington, D.C., deserve a justice system that enforces the law, punishes crime, and restores peace to the nation’s capital.”

Moving North

What to know: Authorities have reported the first human case in the United States of travel-associated New World screwworm, a flesh-eating parasite, resulting from travel to an affected country.

The TPPF take: If left unchecked, the screwworm could decimate American cattle, horses, and wildlife.

“Once it’s here, eradicating it could take decades and cost billions,” says TPPF’s Melissa Ford. “The last time it happened, our livestock industry took 30 years to bounce back. While Mexico cries foul, it’s time we stop pretending we’re dealing with a friendly, cooperative neighbor. We’re not.”
