Early Voting
What to know: Early voting continues in the November constitutional amendments election.
The TPPF take: Bail reform, embodied in Prop. 3 on the ballot, will save lives.
“Since 2021, at least 162 people in Harris County have been murdered—allegedly by suspects who are out on bond. According to the mayor of Houston, the county’s largest city, more than 900 accused murderers are walking the streets in the Bayou City,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “But Texans will go to the polls in November to decide a constitutional amendment that would keep the worst offenders—those accused of murder, rape and human trafficking—behind bars, if the state can show the defendant is a threat to public safety.”

Another Country, Not My Own
What to know: California Gov. Gavin Newsom admits he’s planning a presidential run.
The TPPF take: What explains Newsom’s political rise? He got a boost—at the very beginning.
“Newsom grew up surrounded by those who traded in lies but were too powerful to be held to account—or even care—after all, the bourgeois sensibilities of common folk matter not at all,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “Today’s Democratic Party is overrun with nepotism babies (‘nepo babies’ for short), privileged offspring who ride family connections to fame and fortune while pretending it’s all merit. Zohran Mamdani and Nancy Pelosi are new and old examples who benefited from their wealthy and well-connected parents.”

It’s Working! Really!
What to know: Leftists keep telling each other that the “No Kings” protests were effective and relevant.
The TPPF take: Mostly, Americans yawned—or laughed at the costumes.
“Of all the criticisms that could be hurled at the government, surely ‘No Kings’ is among the most nonsensical,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “If we had a king, the government would not be shut down, MSNBC would be off the air and Elon Musk would be building a nuclear power plant on the moon.”
