Electric Cars and Electric Dreams

What to know: Electric vehicles have become a flashpoint in the culture wars.

The TPPF take: Electric vehicles aren’t the answer to climate worries.

“The wealthy are not bearing the brunt of the war on fossil fuels; child laborers in Africa and working American families are, and the weight will be crushing,” says TPPF’s Jamila Piracci. “And the current administration is not just assisting EV buyers; they are propping up the entire EV market by paying buyers to create demand so that suppliers will have the profitability necessary to make the product. There isn’t a natural widespread demand for EVs, so policymakers are using the popularized ESG narrative to ban the alternatives (fossil fuels).”

Radical Remaking of America

What to know: Victor Davis Hanson says that every aspect in American culture is under assault from wokeness.

The TPPF take: Texas is winning the war on wokeness.

“Disagreement with so-called ‘trans’ issues isn’t the total reason for the substantial shift toward social conservativism among Americans,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Progressives pushing ideas that all American and Texas history is a lie, that white supremacy is ubiquitous and racism is in America’s DNA are another chief cause. So is defunding the police, even as American cities are destroyed by crime.”

‘Illusion of Access’

What to know: Democrats are spinning a recent congressional hearing as being all about Hunter Biden selling foreign powers “the illusion of access” to the White House.

The TPPF take: That’s no illusion.

“It’s no illusion when Hunter Biden puts his father—now the most powerful man in the world—on the phone, that’s access in fact—not just in appearance,” says TPPF’s Brett Tolman. “Republicans in Congress must continue to pursue this investigation, even as it seems to lead straight to the Oval Office.”
