Every Town is a Border Town

What to know: The crisis at the border caused by a surge in illegal immigration will have far-reaching effects.

The TPPF take: The border crisis was the topic of a recent livestream event at TPPF.

“It has impacted every single town in America,” U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., said during that event. “This crisis was created by executive order. And we can’t protect our hometowns if we can’t protect our homeland.”

Property Wrongs

What to know: Yet another court has ruled the CDC’s evictions moratorium unconstitutional.

The TPPF take: It was never about the virus.

“The CDC invoked the federal government’s power over interstate commerce and pointed to COVID-19 as its reason for needing the eviction moratorium,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “But just like the many other regulations we have seen since March 2020, it turns out the pandemic had nothing to do with it. The federal government admitted as much and claimed to have the authority to suspend residential evictions for any reason, including its own views on ‘fairness.’”

Out of Juice

What to know: A new study says that the global supply of batteries for electric vehicles could be completely depleted by 2025.

The TPPF take: Electric vehicles can’t replace all the cars and trucks on America’s roads.

“It is impractical to believe that phasing out gas-powered vehicles will save the human race,” says TPPF’s Katie Tahuahua. “Besides the fact that coal powers electric charging stations, electric cars are not zero emission vehicles; on average they produce more than eight metric tons of CO2 in manufacturing and production, plus an additional two metric tons of CO2 per year based on the energy mix used for electric generation.”
