Iberian Blackout
What to know: A spring blackout on the Iberian Peninsula was caused by excess voltage, the EU says.
The TPPF take: Could the same thing happen in Texas?
“The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) identified problems in Spain that apply to Texas and other parts of North America: insufficient voltage regulation, poor tolerance of inverter-based resources to voltage oscillations, and potential gaps in operations planning,” says TPPF’s Cullen Neely. “The bottom line is that reliability investments are needed in Texas in order to avoid outages, and if the unreliable wind and solar generators aren’t made to pay for what they lack, ratepayers will have to pay for it.”

Third Term for Trump?
What to know: President Donald Trump’s organizations are selling “Trump 2028” hats—is that a sign he’s seriously considering another run, or is he just trolling the left?
The TPPF take: Trump is trolling the Democrats in the way only he can.
“There are plenty of reasons for the president to have been cagey about a third term,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Lame duck presidents simply aren’t as powerful as those who have the potential of another term ahead of them, but that pesky 22nd Amendment is what it is. The whole third term thing had become a distraction, and it’s good that Trump has taken it off the table, although the New York Times insisted yesterday that Trump’s plan to become a dictator is still moving forward.”

Microsoft Lied
What to know: A new report shows that Microsoft lied to U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz when it said it cut ties to a group called NewsGuard and its biased “media literacy” efforts.
The TPPF take: Microsoft has also engaged in broader censorship that threatens free speech and election integrity.
“This type of indoctrination doesn’t teach students to evaluate the quality or substance of news, but rather to blindly accept left-wing viewpoints as authoritative,” says TPPF’s David Dunmoyer. “This undermines the very critical thinking our education system should foster. Lying about severing ties with NewsGuard is a betrayal of public trust and a direct affront to efforts like Senator Cruz’s to protect free expression and combat the left’s censorship of conservative voices.”
