Islamism in Texas
What to know: The Texas Education Agency is currently investigating the Manara Academy charter school system. It’s looking into “prohibited use of instructional materials and classroom activities.”
The TPPF take: The TEA is right to investigate the Manara Academy and other schools with radical Islamist links.
“New research indicates that the Manara Academy system, which comprises three schools across the cities of Irving and Arlington, is the product of a significant Islamist network in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” says TPPF’s Sam Westrop. “This charter school, its teachers and officials, openly collaborate with terror-aligned institutions and radical activists.”

A New Model for Higher Ed
The TPPF take: Texas has pioneered this approach with Texas State Technical College.
“TSTC’s success stems from its unique outcomes-based funding model, a gold standard in higher education,” says TPPF’s Tom Lindsay. “Unlike other institutions, which are rewarded for enrollment or degrees conferred, TSTC is funded based on the economic value its graduates bring to the workforce. If a program’s graduates fail to secure jobs with a positive return on investment, TSTC phases out the program, ensuring taxpayer dollars are invested in results: skilled workers in high-demand roles.”

What to know: According to CNBC, the “best states to live in” are blue states, such as Vermont, New Jersey, Maine, Minnesota.
The TPPF take: People aren’t flocking to any of those states. Instead, they’re coming to Texas and other red states.
“Americans aren’t fleeing to Vermont en masse,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “They’re heading where housing is more attainable, jobs are plentiful, taxes are lower, and governments prioritize results over DEI virtue signaling. Americans will keep seeking opportunity elsewhere. The feet don’t lie, even if the rankings do.”
