It Isn’t Easy Being Green

What to know: Offshore wind projects around the world are failing now, as the truth about their costs—both to ratepayers and to the oceans—begins to emerge. And this threatens the Biden administration’s green dreams.

The TPPF take: TPPF is suing over a planned wind farm in nearby Rhode Island.

“The political pressure to implement offshore wind has been intense,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “The Interior Department’s ‘Smart from the Start’ program fast-tracks offshore wind development, improperly granting permissions allowing foreign-owned energy companies to move forward despite the harms to our safety, our domestic industries and our environment.”

Stand Fast

What to know: As transgender activists sue the state of Texas over its new law banning experimental gender modification treatments on minors, a federal appeals court has upheld a similar Tennessee law.

The TPPF take: This ruling recognizes that unelected judges and bureaucrats shouldn’t be making laws on this issue.

“The Sixth Circuit’s opinion confirms what the best available medical research and advocates for restricting these procedures have been saying all along: States like Tennessee and Texas have the right and duty to enact laws protecting children from unproven and potentially harmful medical interventions,” says TPPF’s Andrew Brown.

Judgment Day

What to know: The federal government is suing the state of Texas over Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts to secure the lawless border with Mexico.

The TPPF take: The crisis at the border is the direct result of Biden administration policies.

“Rather than dealing with the humanitarian crisis they created for Texans at their southern border, the federal government is attempting to block Texas from acting to protect the integrity of its borders,” says TPPF’s Carine Martinez. “Texas must stand firm against the Department of Justice, and the Biden administration, and continue to take steps to defend its sovereignty.”
