Keep the Cuts Coming
What to know: Austin ISD is facing a $110 million budget deficit for the 2025-26 fiscal year, prompted by too much spending and too many kids fleeing the Woke district. To grapple with the huge deficit, it plans “a more than 20% reduction to Central Office staffing—[yielding] an approximate savings of $9.6 million.”
The TPPF take: That’s a good start, but there’s more cutting to do.
“Austin ISD has proposed to eliminate 170 administrative positions in its central office. That’s a good start, but there’s a lot more cutting needed before its budget gap is truly closed,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “The district’s fiscal woes are so pronounced because unions, radicals, and spendthrifts have long dominated the scene. In fact, that cause-and-effect likely holds true to some extent in most urban ISDs today.”

No Kings!
What to know: The left’s recent “No Kings” protests were largely incoherent, reports say.
The TPPF take: The protests did, in fact, prove we have no kings.
“The nationwide marches prove the point that democracy is alive and well in America,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “We got one more round of the usual low-grade street riots in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York, but it was mostly a big nothing burger. Meanwhile, the president’s parade in Washington, D.C., celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, went off without a hitch. It got great reviews, even from critics at left-wing MSNBC who were shocked that there was no ‘dark, malevolent energy.’”

Trump Doom and Gloom
What to know: Democrats and the media are still confused as to why their repeated predictions of a looming recession just refuse to come true.
The TPPF take: Update: The sky isn’t falling.
“Look, it’s great that the Democrats are belatedly realizing inflation is bad, growth is good, and Americans — not foreign countries or NGOs — should come first,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “While liberals hide indoors in fear of the falling sky, the rest of us recognize it’s actually beautiful outside in a new day brought by the Trump administration.”
