What to know: Economist Stephen Moore warns that climate hysteria is harming our children.

The TPPF take: Scaring children about the climate doesn’t make the world a better place.

“If anything, energy’s role in improving the state of the world should provide younger generations with hope for the future,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac. “The media and our leaders need to stop fear mongering, and instead showcase the endless opportunities that energy provides. Energy is freedom, independence, power, control, and national security– all things that ensure self-sustenance and reliability.”

Parent Empowerment

What to know: Parent empowerment will be the topic of an upcoming special legislative session, Gov. Greg Abbott says.

The TPPF take: The governor’s commitment to parent empowerment hasn’t wavered.

“School choice will empower parents, who are given the responsibility to be the primary educators of their children,” Gov. Abbott said at a recent TPPF event. “Parents must be given the opportunity to choose the best educational pathway for their child.”

ESG

What to know: Activists are still trying to sell corporate boards on environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing rules.

The TPPF take: A company’s fiduciary duty is to investors, not to woke activists.

“Boycotting financial institutions that place ESG principles on a pedestal over fiduciary duty is the only way to remove political actors from the marketplace,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “ESG is a political tool to subvert the democratic process and force the political ideology of the globalist elites on the rest of us.”
