Let’s See the Results
What to know: A Texas appeals court has ruled the Texas Education Association can release the state’s A-F ratings for schools throughout the state. Some school districts had sued to keep those ratings hidden from the public.
The TPPF take: This is an important victory for parents.
“Giving every school a grade based on student performance is an old idea in education reform,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Letting parents know how their local schools perform increases parent participation and involvement.”

Big Mistake
What to know: The EPA has ruled that some offshore wind permits, including those issued for a Maryland project, were “approved with glaring procedural and legal flaws.”
The TPPF take: Even before President Donald Trump took office, the offshore wind industry was in trouble.
“Costs keep going up, and embarrassing public failures, such as the turbine blade failure at the Vineyard Wind site off Massachusetts, aren’t helping,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “There are good reasons — along with the cost savings — for ending the expensive and disappointing offshore wind debacle.”

Lashing Out
What to know: The left continues to lash out in rage at being out of power, Victor Davis Hanson writes.
The TPPF take: Democrats want a return to the worst of 1960s radicalism and violence.
“But what is the endgame?” asks TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “Do the perpetrators really think that violence directed against law enforcement will cause a cessation of enforcement of the law? Do the left-wing agitators believe that their rage against the machine will result in electoral victory? History suggests their actions will lead inexorably to a law-and-order landslide in 2028.”
