Losing Its Shine

What to know: California, the Golden State, is losing its shine for energy companies. Currently, Gov. Gavin Newsom is trying to convince energy firms to stay in California.

The TPPF take: California’s troubles are self-inflicted.

“The predictable outcome of California’s green energy policies has arrived and it’s a disaster,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “The Golden State’s misguided energy policies have steadily increased the price of electricity as green energy mandates, grid instability and regulatory burdens have taken their toll.”

They Still Don’t Get It

What to know: Democrats still don’t get why Americans are concerned about crime in blue cities and elsewhere, writes a Democrat in The Hill.

The TPPF take: Democrats are dead wrong on crime.

“Since 2021, at least 162 people in Harris County have been murdered—allegedly by suspects who are out on bond,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “But Texans will go to the polls in November to decide a constitutional amendment that would keep the worst offenders—those accused of murder, rape and human trafficking—behind bars, if the state can show the defendant is a threat to public safety.”

Antifa

What to know: President Trump has declared Antifa a terrorist organization.

The TPPF take: Extremist groups like Antifa see political violence and murder as acceptable.

“The violent Left has an inherent belief in the righteousness of their ideas, a belief that justifies and even necessitates their actions,” says TPPF’s Dr. Cliff Porter. “Anyone who disagrees is automatically labeled as a racist. The Rule of Law is redefined by the Left to mean authoritarianism, not government protection of individual rights. And that turns things upside-down.”
