More ISD Electioneering

What to know: A public school principal is alleged to have used her office to promote someone’s re-election campaign, despite state laws barring this type of political activity. “Section 255.003 of the Texas Election Code prohibits public employees from using public resources to electioneer.”

The TPPF take: ISD electioneering is becoming a major problem.

“Texas should have no tolerance for school districts that break the law and engage in electioneering. These lawless antics threaten to distort the democratic process and redirect resources away from legitimate public purposes,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “The next Texas Legislature should strengthen the law to tamp down on this bad behavior.”

Out of Control

What to know: Iran’s proxies are “out of control,” The Atlantic is now acknowledging.

The TPPF take: Iran’s proxies killed Americans, and President Joe Biden’s weakness is to blame.

“Biden’s policies in the region represent a restoration of Obama’s policies—namely, the appeasement of Iran’s theocratic regime in the hopes that the mullahs might be dissuaded from deploying nuclear missiles,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “Strategist Edward Luttwak succinctly summarized Obama’s Law, ‘Iran can attack at will but must never be attacked.’”

We Were Unaware

What to know: The Biden administration is classifying parts of Martha’s Vineyard and other elite locales as “low-income” in order to qualify them for electric vehicle charging station subsidies.

The TPPF take: The Biden administration is doing everything it can to hide the true cost of electric vehicles.

“Proponents of EVs have falsely pushed the claim that EVs will soon cost less than gas-powered cars; our study shows that EVs are still a long way from being competitive without massive subsidies,” says TPPF’s Brent Bennett. “The Biden administration’s stringent fuel economy standards and regulatory manipulations are driving American automakers toward bankruptcy and adding thousands of dollars to the cost of every gasoline vehicle.”
