No Power
What to know: California is experiencing power outages, and they’re the result of the state’s short-sighted climate policies.
The TPPF take: California’s weakened grid can’t handle the number of electric vehicles the state will soon require—no matter how large the subsidies are.
“This will require a huge increase in the production of electrical transformers, along with more power plants and transmission lines to produce and deliver energy,” says TPPF’s Mark P. Mills. “Consumers and taxpayers will pay for that multibillion-dollar price tag, whether through taxes or higher utility rates.”

They Have a Point
What to know: High-tax states are experiencing a “brain drain,” with high-earning young people fleeing for lower-tax states.
The TPPF take: Americans are voting with their feet and moving to states, like Texas, that place a premium on life, liberty, and property rights.
“Low tax, limited government states, like Texas, are experiencing phenomenal population growth as more and more Americans flee states dominated by the radical Left. It’s further evidence that conservatism works—and it works well,” says TPPF’s James Quintero.

Renaissance
What to know: Classical education is currently experiencing a renaissance, with more and more schools opening all the time.
The TPPF take: Classical education is booming in the U.S. because this model appeals to parents, teachers and even students.
“Classical charter schools offer a distinct education rooted in the liberal arts and the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty,” says TPPF’s Roy Maynard. “That’s why it’s so popular. In Texas, Asian American and Hispanic students represent the fastest growing groups of classical charter students.”
