Protect the Vulnerable

What to know: Trans activists have “occupied” the Oklahoma capitol to protest a bill that would criminalize the mutilation of children.

The TPPF take: Such laws protect children at a very vulnerable time in their lives.

“Researchers have known for some time that gender dysphoria does not put teens at greater risk of suicide than teens suffering from many other mental health risk factors including depression and anorexia,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “We also know that cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers don’t save lives but actually adversely affects mental health, which can increase suicide risk.”

New York State of Mind

What to know: New York City, a proud “sanctuary city” for illegal immigrants, is now shipping them off—to Canada, among other places.

The TPPF take: Even Democrats such as NYC Mayor Eric Adams can no longer deny that Biden administration border policies have failed.

“From before time of the Declaration of Independence or our Constitution, America has been a refuge for those seeking freedom from oppression,” says TPPF’s Mayra Flores. “She should remain so. But we cannot allow laws meant to serve the oppressed to create even more oppression in the false name of compassion. We will never solve this border crisis if Congress is not willing to step in and fix the policies causing it.”

Age-Appropriate

What to know: A new poll shows most Texas parents want “content ratings” on school library books.

The TPPF take: Parents must remain vigilant on school library materials.

“I have discovered over 100 sexually explicit and age-inappropriate books in every secondary school library of Belton ISD,” writes mom Hillary Hickland for The Cannon Online. “These books contain narratives and graphics that normalize child sexual abuse, sexual assault, incest, drug abuse and suicide. Imagine an 11-year-old choosing this book and being exposed to these harsh and heavy concepts that are difficult for adults to process.”
