What to Know: President Biden’s student loan “forgiveness” scheme has been halted by a federal judge in Texas.
The TPPF Take: The president’s student loan forgiveness plan hit the bad policy trifecta: bad policy, bad politics, and illegal.
“Biden’s student loan forgiveness ploy was always bad policy – showering taxpayer money on those who need it the least. It was also bad politics, as those who didn’t agree to take out loans resented being on the hook to pay for those that did agree to take out loans,” says TPPF’s Andrew Gillen. “Fortunately, the court system has begun to evaluate the policy, and a federal court declared the policy illegal, hopefully ending this misguided policy forever.”

“Access to affordable, reliable energy has reduced poverty and improved human lives dramatically for two centuries,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac. “President Biden’s policies are an irrational threat to that prosperity. American families are now experiencing the initial impact of the Left’s war on fossil fuels. Hopefully, it’s enough of a wake-up call to end the insanity.”

Drag Shows
What to Know: Tennessee’s legislature is considering bills that would ban public drag shows and the permanent medical transition of minors.
The TPPF Take: Parents in Texas want these issues addressed by the Legislature here, as well.
“Drag queen reading programs in public libraries and public schools are increasingly common,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Advocates describe them as a fun and harmless way to introduce children to the transgender movement. Of course, most of America is not looking for a fun way to introduce their children to the transgender movement.”
