The TPPF take: Most Americans simply don’t want electric vehicles.
“EVs make sense for small commuter vehicles, but for most Americans, EVs are still too expensive or impractical,” says TPPF’s Brent Bennett. “The swift removal of the EV subsides and mandates by Congress and the Trump Administration has exposed that automakers were only making EVs to satisfy government policies, not consumer demand. It is time to let consumers, not the government, determine the pace of EV adoption.”

Screwworm
What to know: The Texas Department of Agriculture warns that New World screwworms, a bot fly that preys on cattle, have been detected just 119 miles south of the U.S. border with Mexico.
The TPPF take: If left unchecked, the screwworm could decimate American cattle, horses, and wildlife.
“Once it’s here, eradicating it could take decades and cost billions,” says TPPF’s Selene Rodriguez. “The last time it happened, our livestock industry took 30 years to bounce back. While Mexico cries foul, it’s time we stop pretending we’re dealing with a friendly, cooperative neighbor. We’re not.”

Love and Marriage
What to know: The left has a marriage problem; liberals are less likely to get married, and liberal teens say they’re not interested in it.
The TPPF take: This trend reflects our culture’s unrealistic expectations for relationships.
“For women (and men alike) to find greater happiness and prosperity, they must reject systems that set them up to fail,” says TPPF’s Hannah Bruck. “This means choosing seriousness over cynicism, responsibility over irony, and community over perpetual self-optimization. Individuals must be willing to reenter the community of relationship and marriage as sources of purpose and meaning.”
