Schooled by the Electoral College
What to know: MSNBC is assuring its (left-leaning) viewers that President-elect Donald Trump’s victory last week does not amount to a “mandate.”
The TPPF take: The American people voted for change.
“In the final Gallup poll taken just before the election, 72% of Americans said they were dissatisfied with the way things were going in the U.S.,” says TPPF’s Brian Phillips. “That incredibly high number was actually the lowest it had been in the last two years. Meanwhile, Trump not only said what voters wanted to hear, but had a clear and demonstrable record of doing it.”

Leadership
What to know: The mainstream media already doesn’t like newly named Border Czar Tom Homan, who has pledged to deport millions of illegal immigrants.
The TPPF take: Homan is an outstanding pick for this vital position.
“Texas has long borne the brunt of cartel-driven violence, addiction, and chaos,” says TPPF’s Greg Sindelar. “Tom Homan has a distinguished record and correctly recognizes the threat posed by the cartels. As our Foundation continues to advance Texas-centered solutions, we stand prepared to work with Tom to combat cartel influence and restore safety to American communities.”

Housing Shortage
What to know: Texas has a real housing shortage, industry experts say—even as the Legislature explores ways to increase the supply.
The TPPF take: There’s a right way and a wrong way to increase the supply of housing.
“Instead of pressing for collective action, a better approach is to remove federal, state, and local governments from the equation to the greatest possible extent and let market forces determine the quantity of housing supply needed, the price point and incentives required, and everything else,” says TPPF’s James Quintero.
