The TPPF take: This is a win for how we teach Texas history. J.P. Bryan, the volunteer executive director of the TSHA, says the whole story about Texas should be taught—not just the warts.
“You’d think that TSHA leadership would have been thrilled—or at least appreciative of his work to save the TSHA,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “Instead, they began efforts to move Bryan out of the executive director position, so they could get back to recasting Texas history along the lines of the New York Times’ ‘1619 Project.’”

Save the Whales
What to know: The Biden administration’s own scientific experts have warned that offshore wind energy projects could harm whales.
The TPPF take: The Biden administration is killing whales to “save the planet.”
“The administration’s newest proposed permit is set to allow foreign offshore wind companies to kill 42 whales, more than 2,500 dolphins and nearly 1,500 seals by conducting yet another survey for wind turbines off the Jersey Shore,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac. “The project, ironically named Atlantic Shores, is exactly where dead whales have already begun to wash up in correlation with a massive uptick in geological survey vessels mapping the ocean floor.”

Save Our Children
What to know: A new law that will prevent experimental treatments under the guise of “gender affirming care” on children is on its way to the governor’s desk.
The TPPF take: The use of the term “lifesaving” to describe sex change operations and puberty blockers is deceptive.
“Researchers have known for some time that gender dysphoria does not put teens at greater risk of suicide than teens suffering from many other mental health risk factors including depression and anorexia,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “We also know that cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers don’t save lives but actually adversely effects mental health, which can increase suicide risk.”
