That Was It
What to know: An NPR whistleblower—who was fired after sounding the alarm about NPR’s bias—says that its leftward lurch resulted in its defunding.
The TPPF take: Taxpayers shouldn’t be funding a biased “news” outlet like NPR.
“NPR and PBS have always been among the most biased news sources, because they don’t even have market forces to keep them even-handed,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “In recent history, they pushed the Russia-gate story, censored anyone who suggested COVID-19 might have come from a lab leak, and refused to cover Hunter Biden’s laptop, according to an insider report, because editors were worried the story ‘might help Trump’ win the election.”

Pulp Fiction
What to know: The mainstream media won’t tell you that the “coming energy transition” is completely fictitious, Robert Bryce notes.
The TPPF take: Although the One Big Beautiful Bill cut back on some energy subsidies, sustained political pressure from taxpayers and energy consumers will be needed to prevent those subsidies from being resurrected.
“The size and lobbying power of the wind and solar industries, along with the consistent drumbeat from the environmental lobby to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by building more wind and solar, is a powerful force against any attempts to eliminate subsidies,” says TPPF’s Brent Bennett. “The One Big Beautiful Bill allows wind and solar to continue qualifying for subsidies through July 2030, which is plenty of time for Congress to fold to the pressure to extend the deadlines as they have done numerous times in the past.”

See You in Court
What to know: Harvard is suing the Trump administration over funding cuts.
The TPPF take: Even Thomas Jefferson would have seen the need to defund Harvard.
“Withholding billions in grants and contracts from Harvard is far from political theater,” says TPPF’s Tom Lindsay. “It speaks to a deeper question: What obligations do universities have when they receive public money? When students—especially Jewish students—report feeling unsafe or harassed, especially during heated protests over the Israel-Gaza conflict, it’s the right and duty of the public to demand that Harvard live up to its legal and moral responsibilities.”
