That’s No Moon!

What to know: The radical Left is up in arms over a bill nearing passage that would bring consistency and uniformity to the complex world of local regulations. They have nicknamed it the “Death Star” bill.

The TPPF take: Valid compliant, this is not.

“The Texas Regulatory Consistency Act is far from a destructive force. Instead, it promises to create a local regulatory environment that is uniform, consistent, and understandable so that the Texas economy can flourish,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “This bipartisan bill will do Texas job creators a world of good.”

Whale Watching

What to know: Groups are highlighting the alarming surge in whale beachings and deaths, as wind farm activity grows along the eastern seaboard.

The TPPF take: TPPF attorneys have filed a lawsuit over offshore wind plans that endanger marine wildlife, including the North Atlantic right whale.

“At every stage of wind farm development, these majestic creatures are threatened, starting with the sonar surveys used to map the seabed,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “When the liberal environmental group Natural Resources Defense Council, a coalition of U.S. senators led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and a conservative Texas institute like mine come together to question an ocean-based wind farm project, something must be fishy.”

Childhood and Confusion

What to know: Writing in City Journal, Kay S. Hymowitz notes, “With its vision of autonomous young people in touch with their innermost desires, gender identity negates all we know about growing up.”

The TPPF take: Kids are naturally confused and disoriented by the onset of bodily changes as they grow up.

“In puberty, the brain expects to see elevated levels of estrogen or testosterone,” says pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Quinten Van Meter. “But there are very real effects of changing or blocking that process. Puberty is what helps resolve the conflicts—it’s the cure for the incongruity.”
