The Best of Us
What to know: The investigation continues into the political assassination of conservative activist and commentator Charlie Kirk.
The TPPF take: Charlie Kirk was a brilliant thinker, inspired leader, husband, father, and man of faith who changed the political landscape in America.
“Charlie went to college campuses across the country, talking to students about everything from Marxism to immigration to Native American health care to sex before marriage — whatever they wanted to debate with him,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “He believed that in order to save the greatest country in the world, it was critical to talk with people who disagree with you.”

Good Godley
What to know: The city of Godley is threatening residents with a massive 47% tax hike. If the city moves forward with its proposed rate, then the average homeowner’s tax bill will grow by $752.84 per year.
The TPPF take: What’s happening in Godley is happening all around Texas—tax-and-spend local governments are running amok.
“The city of Godley is proposing an ungodly 47% tax increase that will do real harm to homeowners. This is incredibly poor public policy,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “Unfortunately, what’s happening in Godley right now isn’t uncommon. In fact, many local governments today are chasing huge tax hikes that make it clear stronger, stricter tax reforms are urgently needed.”

The Story of Freedom
What to know: The Texas State Board of Education has revamped history education in the Lone Star State.
The TPPF take: For too long, Texas students have been fed disconnected snapshots of history, stripped of context and meaning, with no understanding of the history that proves American Exceptionalism.
“Now, Texas children will finally be taught history chronologically as the unfolding story of mankind’s struggle for liberty,” says TPPF’s Mandy Drogin. “From prehistory to the ideas of Greece, Rome, and Jerusalem, through the brilliance of the Enlightenment, to our Founders’ bold creation of the greatest nation on earth, and ultimately, to Texas’s unmatched role in defending and advancing those ideals.”
