The Civil Rights Issue of our Time

What to know: The NAACP and other left-leaning groups are crying “racism” at proponents of parent empowerment.

The TPPF take: We can’t leave minority students in failing schools.

“School choice is the civil rights movement of our time,” says TPPF’s Richard Johnson. “Few things matter more to parents than ensuring their children have a high-quality education that equips them with the tools and experiences necessary to succeed. It is time for Texas to give poor and working-class families the assistance they need to send their children to the school of their choice.”

At War

What to know: Israel has been here before; condemned by the world for defending itself from horrific Hamas attacks on civilians—including women, children and even infants.

The TPPF take:  When will the world realize that Hamas is the real enemy of the Palestinian people?

“Hamas won an election against the corrupt elements of Fatah in January 2006 and for the next year-and-a-half, Hamas proceeded to purge rival elements, sometimes throwing its domestic enemies to their deaths off of high-rises,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “Hamas receives billions in foreign aid, some official, some clandestine. And Hamas built an army.”

A Big, Smelly Club Washed Ashore

What to know: “Green energy” proponents say former President Donald Trump is using “whale deaths as a weapon against Biden’s energy policy” and offshore wind development.

The TPPF take:  The Biden administration is sacrificing endangered whales to “save the planet.”

“Progressive climate activists tout the climate benefits of building out offshore wind turbines while ignoring the costs to the very ocean life they’ve long fought to protect,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac. “The tragic loss of ocean life is a predicament long foreseen by America’s fisheries, who warn about its impact.”
