The Return of Sanity
What to know: President Donald Trump has signed an executive order halting taxpayer-funded trans surgeries in federal prisons.
The TPPF take: Why was this even necessary?
“America doesn’t want this,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “The Washington Post reports that while most Americans do not believe transgender people should be discriminated against, a majority believe gender is determined at birth and an even larger percentage don’t want boys or men playing in women’s sports. Approval of the transgender agenda is declining as more Americans see and understand what it really means.”

Grade Inflation
What to know: Teenagers headed to college don’t like the idea of ending grade inflation.
The TPPF take: Grade inflation is making college degrees meaningless.
“Grade inflation is no harmless campus eccentricity,” says TPPF’s Tom Lindsay. “It is a slow-motion catastrophe that has turned college transcripts into worthless Monopoly money, robbing students of genuine learning and crippling workforce competitiveness.”

Maxxing It Out
What to know: The New York Times’ Christine Emba says that young, male “looksmaxxers” have essentially “dispensed with relationships entirely.”
The TPPF take: The term may be new, but “maxxing” is a familiar cultural pattern of striving against the conditions of the present moment.
“The cultural critics cycle through a tired scrutiny,” says TPPF’s Cameron Abrams. “For them, ‘looksmaxxing’ is simply male chauvinism or the next evolution of so-called ‘toxic masculinity.’ But actually, what maxxing shows us is that resolve remains. Men want standards. Standards for the world — and for themselves. In a very real sense, the danger for men is passivity.”
