The Trans Agenda

What to know: Even the Washington Post admits that former President Donald Trump’s ads on Vice President Kamala Harris and the trans agenda are effective.

The TPPF take: While the transgender issue may not be a top concern for voters, it is having an impact.

“The transgender agenda includes support for boys playing in girls’ sports, pushing puberty blockers and sexual transition surgery for children, spending taxpayer dollars for sex change surgery in prisons and the military, and opening public venues for drag shows, even for children,” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “Approval of the transgender agenda is declining as more Americans see and understand what it really means.”

Deflated

What to know: Environmentalists in Oregon are wondering why big plans for offshore wind energy have fallen through. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has called off its auction of offshore leases.

The TPPF take: The push for offshore energy is facing substantial headwinds.

“The strength of those headwinds was made clear in the summer, when the feds received exactly zero bids for leases off Texas,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “Industry expressed a profound disinterest in these Gulf leases, casting a shadow on what the Biden administration has called ‘an important milestone for the Gulf of Mexico region — and for our nation — to transition to a clean energy future.’ No surprise, given that despite massive subsidies, offshore wind is twice as expensive as onshore resources.”

Just Like Detroit

What to know: Pop star Lizzo is getting some pushback from her claim that if Vice President Kamala Harris is elected president, “the whole country will be like Detroit.” Currently, Detroit’s unemployment rate is twice the national average.

The TPPF take: Or, Americans can look to California for a preview of a Harris administration.

“California, under the leadership of Harris and Gov. Gavin Newsom, foreshadows America’s fate if Harris ascends to the presidency,” says TPPF’s Chuck DeVore. “The state has aggressively pursued climate policies, which, while championed as progressive and forward-thinking, have also proven costly and economically burdensome for its residents. These policies offer a glimpse into the Biden-Harris administration’s whole-of-government approach and its harmful effect on Americans.”
