Won’t Back Down
What to know: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says now is not the time to back down at the southern U.S. border. Even after the Trump administration is gone, Texas must stand its ground.
The TPPF take: Texas will continue to play a big role in securing our nation’s border.
“Amid the greatest national security crisis of our time, Texas has been at the forefront of studying and interdicting the threat posed at our border,” says TPPF’s Greg Sindelar. “Now, we can lead the way in helping a new, strong federal government strengthen our security apparatus and end cartel influence in America.”

It’s Coming
What to know: The school choice bill before the Texas House now has 76 cosponsors. It needs 76 votes to pass.
The TPPF take: The time is now for Texas to finally pass universal school choice.
“This is a fantastic bill for the parents and children of Texas,” said TPPF’s Mandy Drogin. “Every child deserves access to an education that fits their unique needs, and House Bill 3 provides exactly that. It is time to empower parents.”

Saving Women’s Sports
What to know: Texas is suing the NCAA over its policies regarding athletes who claim to be transgender. The NCAA has too many loopholes, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says.
The TPPF take: The NCAA needs to realize that the insanity is over.
“When President Trump signed another executive order this week banning men from playing in women’s sports, he proclaimed, ‘The war on women’s sports is over,’” says TPPF’s Sherry Sylvester. “He’s right. Women won. Any school or university that continues to allow men who think they are women to participate in women’s sports will lose their federal funding.”
