This afternoon, the Senate unanimously approved SB 1750 by Senate Criminal Justice Chairman John Whitmire, which would allow certain persons with past felony convictions to obtain a provisional occupational license, so long as the person’s offense did not directly relate to the requirements of that occupation. This issue is a pillar of the Foundation’s restorative justice agenda, and Chairman Whitmire recognized the work of Marc Levin in his floor remarks laying out the bill.
