He’s Right
What to know: President-elect Donald Trump says that wind farms only work because of taxpayer subsidies.
The TPPF take: Energy subsidies have become a permanent feature of the U.S. energy landscape.
“Policymakers, energy market participants, and voters must wake up to the fact that the primary results of energy subsidies have been the distortion of energy markets,” says TPPF’s Brent Bennett. “We should stop repeating the mistakes of the past and eliminate all state and federal energy subsidies so that energy markets can do what they have done well for decades, namely, creating wealth and environmental quality for billions of people around the world.”

What to know: President-elect Donald Trump plans to use Texas’ border security efforts as a model for fixing the border.
The TPPF take: Texas will continue to play a big role in securing our nation’s border.
“Amid the greatest national security crisis of our time, Texas has been at the forefront of studying and interdicting the threat posed at our border,” says TPPF’s Greg Sindelar. “Now, we can lead the way in helping a new, strong federal government strengthen our security apparatus and end cartel influence in America.”

Not This Again
What to know: The media memo has gone out, it seems; President-elect Donald Trump’s planned border policies are “cruel.”
The TPPF take: Attacking Trump’s plans means his opponents must defend Biden’s failures.
“The left cannot claim the moral high ground here,” says TPPF’s Robert Henneke. “The Biden administration’s policies caused far more suffering than anything seen under Trump, effectively handing control of the border to criminal cartels that ‘tax’ anyone trying to cross. We can’t let the left forget the truth — Trump’s policies will make Americans safer, more secure, and more prosperous.”
