It’s Back

What to know: The FCC could soon reinstate some “net neutrality” rules, a regulatory regime that the Trump administration had rescinded.

The TPPF take: This decision would inhibit Internet Service Provider (ISP) growth and access and affordability for millions of Americans.

“Restoring market freedom enabled ISPs to invest in infrastructure and expand internet access,” says TPPF’s Greyson Gee. “These are the stated broadband policy objectives of the Biden administration, but its regulatory approach does not comport with the data, which demonstrates that net neutrality handicaps ISP expansion and affordability.”

Wokeness

What to know: America’s woke education is fueling the mental health crisis.

The TPPF take: Texans need to know that this wokeness is pervasive in public education—even in rural parts of Texas.

“Charlotte is a small town 45 miles south of San Antonio. It’s a town of only 1,524 people according to the 2020 census,” says TPPF’s Mandy Drogin. “Charlotte ISD’s district counseling page is directing students towards LGBTQ+ chatrooms that contain a ‘quick escape’ button to hide activity from their parents. These chatrooms are not monitored by mental health professionals and are designed to ‘affirm’ youths aged 13-19 in their ‘gender identity.’”

Bidenomics

What to know: President Joe Biden and the Democrats aren’t using the term “Bidenomics” much anymore.

The TPPF take: Progressive policies have decimated family budgets.

“Progressivism deserves much blame for today’s economic mess. This radical ideology has pushed the nation ever closer toward socialism, government largesse, and central planning—all of which have crushed the average American family’s budget,” says TPPF’s James Quintero. “What American consumers need most right now is a return to free-markets and limited government.”
