See You in Court

What to know: The state of Texas is suing the Biden administration over the federal government’s practice of cutting the concertina wire barriers Texas has installed to secure the border.

The TPPF take: TPPF is co-counsel in this case. A secure border is the humane goal.

“President Joe Biden’s inaction and inept policies on the southern U.S. border only increase the human carnage and suffering wrought by the Mexican drug cartels,” says TPPF’s Greg Sindelar. “This isn’t compassion; it’s complicity.”

Front Lines

What to know: Texas is now at the front lines of the school choice debate.

The TPPF take: It’s time for Texas to trust parents.

“Nationwide, 32 states and the District of Columbia have some form of school choice,” notes TPPF’s Mandy Drogin. “Surely, if the dire predictions are true, we’d see the results in states that have empowered parents for years.”

Getting Noticed

What to know: More and more media outlets are reporting on TPPF’s new study showing the true costs of electric vehicles over time.

The TPPF take: This study shows that EVs are still a long way from being competitive without massive subsidies.

“The Biden administration’s stringent fuel economy standards and regulatory manipulations are driving American automakers toward bankruptcy and adding thousands of dollars to the cost of every gasoline vehicle,” says TPPF’s Brent Bennett. “Rolling back these subsidies and burdensome regulations would save consumers and taxpayers tens of billions of dollars a year and stop the auto industry from falling off a financial cliff.”
