The Texas Public Policy Foundation responded today to U.S. Senator Dick Durbin's (D-IL) letter requesting information on the Foundation's relationship with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and its internal decision making. This response letter was drafted and signed by the Foundation's Board Chairman Dr. Wendy Gramm, and its President and CEO Brooke Rollins.
"Public policy organizations such as TPPF and ALEC deserve to be respectfully engaged even by those opposed to limited government and individual liberty," they write, "We are disappointed that, instead, it appears you are attempting to intimidate ALEC and like-minded groups whose policy views you disagree with … We will not be intimidated."
